Suunto – a renowned gadget maker has just upped the ante for its already successful fitness watch lineup the Ambit 3 with the Ambit 3 Vertical variant. Available in four color options – lime, blue, white and black, the Ambit 3 Vertical is designed to do much more than just track your steps, but goes a few miles further by tracking your “vertical” or elevation in both training and racing.
This latest addition to the Ambit 3 range also gets a somewhat major facelift and this time around is much more smaller and sleeker thanks to an all new GPS antenna configuration. The all new bezel design now embeds the antenna, and although it might the Ambit 3 Vertical seem like a cheaper, low end model, that’s hardly the case. The lack of the antenna results in a much more streamlined unit and an aesthetically pleasing watch that fits comfortably on both smaller and larger wrists.
This watch truly is the jack of all trades and offers multi-sport functions for running, cycling and swimming, vibration alerts, route altitude profile, and a barometer for elevation measurements. One of the noteworthy features of the Ambit 3 Vertical – that Altitude Profile, which displays current climb and decent in real time. In addition to this, this feature also gives you an accurate reading of the climbs and descents that lie ahead on the route, which in itself is a crucial feature for those doing big mountain climbs or races.
